On 16th March 2021 the IOAS took the decision to suspend Certificadora BIOTROPICO S.A.S.’s ISO/IEC 17065 accreditation along with the COR and EU recommendation for accreditation. On 18th May 2021 the decision was upheld against an unsuccessful appeal.
Biotropico has been invited to take corrective actions to enable IOAS to lift the suspension. Whilst the suspension is in effect Biotropico is not permitted to accept new applications or extend the scope of certificates but is required to maintain surveillance on existing certificate holders.
Any operations, certification bodies and authorities that relied on these accreditations are asked to take note.
