IFOAM Accreditation Seal Changes for 2015

IFOAM is in the process of implementing some changes in the IFOAM Accreditation Program.

The concept of “IFOAM Accreditation” now applies where certification bodies meet the IFOAM Accreditation Requirements and certify to the requirements of one or more standards in the IFOAM Family of Standards. Certification bodies may still opt to also demonstrate compliance to the IFOAM Standard.

The IFOAM Accreditation Seal may be used by all IFOAM Accredited Certification Bodies, and also to clients in an IFOAM Accredited certification program for use on product labels and marketing if they have signed a licensing agreement to administer their use of the Accreditation Seal.

In November the administration of the IFOAM Accreditation seal will shift from IOAS to IFOAM.

All IFOAM Accredited CBs will be asked to sign a new agreement with IFOAM for use of the IFOAM Accreditation Seal and pay a modest licensing fee.

Additional information about this change in advance of implementation, including in an IFOAM Accredited CB Webinar, which will be scheduled in October. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact me at j.katto@ifoam.bio
