Robert Duxbury has retired from his position as Vice president on the IOAS Board after serving for over twenty one years.
Robert studied horticulture in the mid-’70s and took a position as assistant manager of a mushroom farm immediately after leaving college. In 1980 he began a 25 year career at Sainsbury’s, one of the UK’s largest retailers, initially as a fresh produce technologist and finally becoming Technical Manager of Organic Foods. He was also a member of the board of the UK competent authority and involved in putting together the UK’s first Organic Action Plan. He started his own consultancy – True Food Values – and then moved to Bristol when he was appointed certification director at the Soil Association. He served on the IOAS Board for twenty one years helping IOAS to become the successful, international, organic and sustainable accreditation organisation it is today.
IOAS thank Robert for his valued contributions, commitment and hard work over the last twenty one years.
