GOTS is the leading set of norms in the field of organic textile processing and its logo is appearing widely on organic textile products around the world. The standard requires all raw materials to be certified organic to a recognised international or national standard but the GOTS standard itself deals only with post production requirements.

Textile Exchange (formerly known as Organic Exchange) is a non-profit company incorporated in 2002 and is committed to the responsible expansion of textile sustainability across the global textile value chain. The headquarters are in the USA with staff and contractors in 8 countries. Textile Exchange has developed several standards for the textile industry to support specific claims.
