Adoption of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2501 of 11 December 2025, amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1165 on authorized products and substances in organic production.
The key point of this amendment is the extension of the applicability of the existing requirements under Regulation (EC) No 889/2008. Due to delays in the EGTOP evaluation process, the current rules set out in Annex VII of Regulation (EC) No 889/2008 will continue to apply until 31 December 2027. The provisions of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1165 referring to the lists of products for cleaning and disinfection should apply from 1 January 2028.
In addition, protein from peas and potatoes have been approved as processing aids for the clarification of fruit juices, fruit wines and mead.
The Regulation was published on 12 December 2025 and will enter into force on 1 January 2026.
