IOAS Inc. Expands Accreditation Services to Include Regenerative Agriculture Standards

IOAS Inc. is pleased to announce that we now offer accreditation for regenerative agriculture standards that align closely with, or provide a credible pathway towards, organic principles and practices.

This expansion reflects IOAS’s commitment to supporting high-integrity assurance systems that promote truly sustainable and resilient food and farming systems worldwide.

As interest in regenerative agriculture grows globally, the need for robust, transparent, and independent oversight of certification programs has become increasingly important. IOAS accreditation of regenerative agriculture standards provides assurance to stakeholders—including farmers, certification bodies, buyers, brands, and consumers—that a regenerative agriculture scheme or standard is what it claims to be, and that the program is implemented competently, consistently, and impartially.

By accrediting regenerative agriculture standards, IOAS helps strengthen trust in claims related to regenerative practices such as soil health, biodiversity, animal welfare, climate resilience, and farmer/worker welfare, while safeguarding the integrity of sustainability markets. Regenerative agriculture schemes and claims can be based on and compliant with organic standards, whereas others may allow the use of inputs and practices that would not be permissible but that still make a valuable contribution to sustainability. Still others represent clear attempts to greenwash. In line with our broader mission of trust and integrity, IOAS will not work with the latter and will review all standards before accepting a scheme for accreditation, insisting on transparency for any that we work with.

This new accreditation scope complements IOAS’s long-standing work in organic, sustainability, and social accreditation, reinforcing our mission to safeguard credibility and confidence in certification systems globally.

Schemes and Certification Bodies interested in IOAS accreditation for regenerative agriculture are invited to contact IOAS at enquiry@ioas.org to discuss eligibility, scope, and the application process.
