Organic and natural cosmetics and health care products are defined by criteria that companies must meet to ensure consumers that they are genuine organic or natural products produced to the highest feasible sustainability practices. All aspects of the sourcing, manufacture, marketing and control of the products are covered. IOAS has worked with the two main schemes in the market, COSMOS and NATRUE since their inception. NSF/ANSI 305 is the only American National Standard that defines labeling and marketing requirements for personal care products containing organic ingredients.

COSMOS Organic
Accreditation for the COSMOS-standard AISBL is provided by IOAS and must be conducted in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065 standards. This ensures that certification bodies maintain high levels of competence and integrity in certifying organic and natural cosmetic products.
NATRUE
IOAS works with NATRUE AISBL to provide accreditation for certification bodies in the natural and organic cosmetics sector. This partnership helps ensure that high-quality, certified natural and organic cosmetic products are available to consumers globally.
